Recently the Team at Wedding and Bride hosted a Facebook Competition giving one lucky bride the chance to win four tickets to our Elite Melbourne Spring Bridal Expo!

Melbourne Spring Bridal Expo – The Competition was to simply post up some advice / tips on planning a wedding. We must say the response we got was nothing short of amazing. Our team decided to feature some of the advice we received.

OUR WINNERS RESPONSE

I am currently trying to plan my wedding.. There is so much advice someone could give in regards to it but you need to remember it is the day that you will be marrying your best friend, soul mate and lover. It’s a day of love with friends and family all around to share and create this special moment with you.
Planning can be quite stressful I have been to so many weddings and now trying to do my own is hard.
Make a list of things you need to do and book the things that get booked out first like reception and photographer. Make appointments to have a look around don’t settle for one thing, it is an amazing feeling when you are going with either family, friends or even just your partner to look at these, it feels as if it’s a dream. Don’t forget to enjoy every moment and not to stress or worry. Make it your own wedding. Ask your partner what they think, what they would like, because their opinion matters. Others may say to do this and do that, but in the end of the day it is YOUR special day so make it YOUR dream come true!
Ensure you look for a dress! Especially if It needs to be order it can take places up to six months to order. Take your time when choosing and try every single dress on until your in one and say, “This is it”. You will know when to stop looking around for one.
A colour theme is the place to start once you’ve booked the main things. I don’t have one and trying to figure out one that I want isn’t easy. But as soon as you have your theme/colour theme organised then the flowers, bridesmaid dresses, invites etc. will all come into place it is like your guideline.
As kids I’m sure we all had a fairy tale wedding that we wanted. Well this is your fairy tale wedding and enjoy every moment from start to finish, from the planning to the day. Capture memories, make memories, but more important live your memories. Don’t question or regret later. Stay positive and when you feel as if it’s becoming too stressful, step back, do something else and come back with a clearer mind. Advice given is great, what you choose to do is your choice and we all have the right to make our own decisions irrespective if someone doesn’t want it that way. It’s YOUR day with the person of your dreams so make it the day both of you don’t forget. Work together as a team and seek each other’s opinions because in the end it is you two that are making that dream come true and everyone else is making the scene and joining in on your memory forever.” – Ajda Mehmet

A big thank you to Ajda Mehmet for participating and for all the great advice. Brides-to-be will certainly take note of all the great suggestions you have provided! We look forward to seeing you at the expo!

If your looking at venues that cater your wedding ask about the cake cutting cost! Some places can charge up to $500 dollars just to cut your cake and if they don’t do it your cake can not be cut at all!!!Kirsty Maay
